Case Study: Binit

Launched in 2017 Binit believe in a world without waste where everything is a resource and where people, companies and their customers are empowered to make good decisions about what to do with the things they no longer need. Binit joined the Exeter Velocities inaugural cohort and graduated to the Advance programme.

The Challenge

Binit recognised a need for a waste collection and recycling service in Exeter that uses vehicles more efficiently. Because they understood local problems, like seagulls ripping open waste bags, they have been able to help local businesses work together to get rid of them through a unique waste management platform. Their business also addressed two of the goals of Exeter City Futures – Waste as a Resource and Reliable Journeys and Resilient Road.

The Solution

Binit developed a platform for businesses to access hassle-free, better-value waste and recycling services. Behind the scenes they want to bring the waste and recycling collections in a local area together, with the aim of reducing vehicle movements and cleaning up the litter.
