Exeter City Futures at Princesshay Sustainable Transport Day

Event : 14 June 2017

On Wednesday 14th June Exeter City Futures will be supporting Princesshay Sustainable Transport Day, engaging with citizens and introducing teams from our accelerator who are actively developing transport solutions within the city. We’ll also be kicking off our Tranquil City Exeter project.

Sustainability and Tranquility

Visitors to Princesshay can come and talk to RideOn and GreenRide Sharing, two teams from the first accelerator cohort.

GreenRide Sharing’s app is a platform which facilitates on-demand car sharing for commuters and ad hoc travellers on intra-city Exeter journeys. RideOn is a charity which aims to encourage future car drivers to consider cycling as a relevant alternative to driving by removing some of the perceived obstacles to riding.

We’ll also be introducing our Tranquil City Exeter project which is being undertaken in partnership with Tranquil City. Using images tagged #TranquilCityExeter from Instagram Exeter City Futures will create a map of tranquil spaces in Exeter, encouraging active transportation by raising awareness of tranquil locations and routes within the city.

Meet the teams

Timed to take place during National Bike Week and Love to Ride the event will bring together key stakeholders from across the city. The aim is to encourage and inspire people working in and visiting Princesshay to think about how they travel and try to use more sustainable transport more often.

Visitors can come and talk to the Exeter City Futures team, and meet RideOn and GreenRide Sharing, on Bedford Street from 10am – 4pm.
