Exeter City Futures has launched a crowdfunding initiative on Spacehive – a civic crowdfunding portal, where anyone with project ideas that address the city challenges around congestion and energy, can share their idea, build support from the community, connect with a like-minded crowd and pitch for funding.
To mark the launch we are holding a free workshop for community members with project ideas to learn how the platform works. The Workshop will take place on Thursday 19th October in our City Futures Space, 5.30 – 7pm.
Developing Your Idea
The workshop will introduce people in communities with ideas for projects to the Spacehive platform and develop their idea to ensure it meets our eligibility criteria. It will cover; how to formulate project ideas, plan and promote your project campaign, pitch for funds, and bring your project to life.
All projects are required to meet the approval of the project delivery manager to make sure they are eligible for our movement and to ensure that they have the best chance of success.
Projects that meet with our criteria will be given additional support as they set up and run their campaign through regular meetings and workshops.
About the Movement
The aim of the Exeter City Futures movement is to support Exeter’s communities to develop local solutions to issues around congestion and energy, solutions that create impactful change and a more sustainable Exeter.
Exeter City Futures is a transformational change programme that provides the tools to realise healthy and prosperous cities with optimised and efficient energy and transport networks. At its core, our approach is a process for defining problems, building partnerships to find solutions, and managing and measuring progress. We will provide support to communities and individuals to develop a project plan and launch their crowdfunding bid.
